THE LAST PART
Voyage of Prophet Noah (Hazrat Nuh AS):
In Hayat al-Qulub, Hazrat Nuh AS was the son of Lamech , who was the son of Matushalakh , who was the son of Akhnookh (Hazrat Idris AS). According to Amir Al-Mu'minin , Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him) narrated that the name of Nuh was Abul-a-haa but since he wept for five hundred years, he was called Nuh.
Beginning of prophethood of Hazrat Nuh AS (Noah) :
Sayyid Ibn-e-Tawus narrated from Mohammad Ibn-e-Jarir Tabari (RA) that Hazrat Nuh (AS) used to worship Allah in excess and kept himself seclude from public and lived in mountains. When he was 480 years old, Archangel Jibril (AS) (Gabriel) appeared before him by Allah's order and asked "Nuh! why have you secluded yourself from the people?"
He replied : "People do not recognize Allah, therefore I have aloof myself from them?"
Archangel replied: "Wage holy war against them, and teach them about Allah."
Hazrat Nuh AS replied : "I do not posses the might to confront them. And if they came to know that I am not of their idol religion, they would surely kill me".
Jibril AS asked : "if you get that might, will you teach them?"
Hazrat Nuh AS said : "In the name of Allah, with pleasure."
Upon this reply Hazrat Jibril (AS) raised a loud voice and the mountains shattered. In response to voice , all the angels of the heavens and all the creatures of the earth replied : "Here we are ! Here we are! O messenger of Allah". Hazrat Nuh (AS) filled with fear asked "Who are you?"
Hazrat Jibril AS replied : "I am Angel who lived with your two forefathers (Adam and Idris). Allah sends his salutations and I have brought good tidings for you. Take this dress of patience, faith and the honourable robe of prophethood and Messengership. And Allah orders that you will marry daughter of Lamech (Named Amoora)". In Quran it is mentioned that she was perished in great Flood) .
Divine Curse and Angels of Heaven :
In Quran Surah Nuh (71) , it is clearly mentioned that Hazrat Nuh (AS) remained among his people for 950 years and preached oneness of Allah but their obstinacy kept on increasing. Generations after generations passed, the conflict kept increasing, the number of disbeliever kept rising , which included his wife and one son. He got upset and decided to invoke Divine curse on his people.
In Hayat Al-Qulub Vol.1 , Ali ibn-e-Ibrahim (RA) narrated that when Hazrat Nuh (AS) decided for Divine curse , at dawn group of Angels descend from Heaven on earth. They informed Hazrat Nuh (AS) that they have travelled on command of Allah to request him "O' Prophet of Allah, postpone the act of cursing because this would be the first punishment and wrath to be descend to the Earth". Hazrat Nuh AS agreed and again start preaching for next 300 years. Once again he thought about divine curse and again group of Angels descend from Heaven. They again requested Hazrat Nuh (AS) not to curse his people and more 300 years he continued his message of Monotheism. Finally after 950 years of endless effort , Hazrat Jibril (AS) came and informed Hazrat Nuh (AS) that Allah has informed him that (Quran 11:36) " No one will believe from your people except those who have already believed so do not be distressed by what they have been doing".
Allah ordered Hazrat Nuh (AS) to plant palm trees. His people began to mock and laugh at him that at his age he is now planting palm trees. For fifty years he kept planting trees and eventually all the trees grow taller and stronger. Then came Allah's command to cut down those trees and begin building an Ark. (Quran 11:37) " And build the Ark under our watchful Eyes and directions...."
In Hayat Al-Qulub, it is mentioned that the Ark was build at the point of Kufah (Today , at that point we have Al-Kufah Mosque in Iraq).
According to Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq, Length of the ship was 1200 hands, breadth was 800 hands and height was 80 hands. Ibn-e-Abbas mentioned that Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him) narrated that Nuh's Ark had ninety rooms for animals.
Beginning of Signs of Great Flood:
According to Imam Ibn-Ja'far as-Sadiq, that forty years before the Great Flood, women among people of Noah remained barren and no child was born. Imam Ibn Ja'far as-sadiq also mentioned that at the time of Hazrat Nuh AS, Najaf was the tallest of all the mountains of the world and son of Noah took refuge upon it from the deluge. At that moment, Allah revealed to the Mountain that some evil people are about to take refuge upon it. Najaf mountain got frightened and it pulverised itself into soft sand. In its place , a river came to exist which was called Nae. Later the river got dried and now called Najaf. (Today located in Iraq with almost dried)
Duration of Great Flood:
The details regarding the exact duration , Prophet Nuh AS (Noah) spent on the ark are not defined in Holy Quran. However, in Qisas-ul-Anbiya ; Exegesis (Tafsir) ; Hadith-al-Safina ; Mustadrak-e-Hakim and including Gospel (Injeel) , there is considerable narrations related to his Voyage, about how long the Great Flood lasted ? and when and how it came to end ?
In Gospel (Injeel) : Genesis 7:11-12 "The fountains of the great deep broke open and the floodgates of heaven opened, raining for 40 days and nights".
Genesis 7:19-20;24 "The waters covered all high mountains under the heaven by more than 15 cubits, and the waters prevailed for 150 days"
Genesis 8:4 "But God remembered Noah, and caused a wind to subside the waters. The ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat in the seventh month.
According to Ibn-e-Abbas, the Ark afloat for five months (roughly 150 days) before the water receded. If one review Mustadrak-e-Hakim and Hadith-al-Safina, it is mentioned that the Hazrat Nuh (AS) (Noah's) Voyage lasted for seven days and seven nights. Imam Ja'far As-Sadiq state that the Great Flood began on 1st day of month of Rajjab and come to rest on Mount Judi (as mentioned in Quran 11:44). The water come to recede on the 10th of Muharram (Day of Ashura) . It is narrated that Hazrat Nuh AS and his followers fasted on the 1st Rajjab as a form of gratitude to Allah.
Hazrat Nuh (AS) (Noah) along with his family and believers, continued making prayer during their voyage , as they were command By ALLAH. Quran mention that prayer of Noah and his believers in Surah Hud verse 41 (11:41) “In the name of Allah is its course and its anchorage. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful.”
Surah Al-Mu'minun verse 28 - 29 (23:28-29) : "And when you have boarded the ship, you and those with you, then say, ‘Praise to Allah who has saved us form the wrongdoing people. And say, ‘My Lord, let me land at a blessed landing place, and You are the best to accommodate us".

Significance of Mount Judi and Ark of Noah:
In Hayat ul-Qulub, according to Imam Musa Ibn-Ja'far when Hazrat Nuh (AS) Ark started sailing Allah commanded all the mountains "I want to make my servant Nuh's Ark to stay on one of you". Hearing this all the mountains raised their heads in honour except for Mount Judi. It remained humble and modest and replied : "I am not worthy enough that Nuh's Ark may berth upon me". Allah appreciate this and designated the ship to halt on Mount Judi. In Quran (11:44) " the ship (Kashti Nuh) came to rest on [the mountain of] Judiyy" Hence when the ship touched Mount judi , it trembled. Hazrat Nuh prayed "My Allah, steady the boat" and it did. Judiyy is located today on the eastern side of mountain of Ararat in Turkey.
As the flood water covered the entire Earth, the Ark was guided by Angels towards Hejaz region. (Currently this place lies on the western side of Saudia Arabia along the Red Sea Coast) .
According to Hadith-al-Safina, the most remarkable spiritual incidence was that the Ark of Noah performed Circumambulation (Tawaf-e-Kaaba) for seven times. Everything got submerged in great flood except Holy Kaaba.
The Ark journey around the Kaaba Symbolises that the ship was not just drifting , it was performing an act of worship. Even in that time of Global Catastrophe , The holy Kaaba remained the Spiritual focus point. Furthermore, it linked the era of Hazrat Adam AS (Adam) to the new beginning under Hazrat Nuh AS (Noah).

According to Tafseer, Black stone (Hajra-e-Aswad) was kept safely hidden by Archangel Hazrat Jibril AS (Gabriel) inside Mount Abu Qubays. It was done to protect it from flood water and it kept remained there until Hazrat Ibrahim AS (Abraham) rebuild Kaaba.
Today, Mount Abu Qubays is a mountain (approximately 420m high), located on the eastern side of the Masjid al-Haram (Kaaba) in Mecca.

Ark Tales: (Not Authentic !!)
Post-Flood:
In Quran Surah Al-Hud verse 44 (11:44) : "And it was said, 'O earth, swallow your water, and O sky, withhold [your rain].' And the water subsided, and the matter was accomplished, and the ship came to rest on the [Mount] Judi. And it was said, 'Away with the wrongdoing people"
Islamic scholars often refer to Nuh as the "Second Adam" because humanity was repopulated through those on the Ark. Both in Biblical and Islamic eschatology like account by Imam Al-Ridha RA that there were total 80 believers (survivors) on the Ark. Once the ship docked, these 80 people founded the City of Thamaaneen (translates as THE CITY OF EIGHTY). Today, a village in that region is called Heștan (means Eighty) within the City Cizre in Turkey.
According to both Genesis 9:28-29 and Ibn-e-Kathir , Prophet Noah lived 350 years after Great Flood.
After Great Flood Shaytan (Satan) did what?
According to Hayat-ul Qulub, it is mentioned that when Hazrat Nuh AS descended from the Ark after the great Flood, Satan came to him and said : "You have done greatest favour by cursing your people. Now there is no one left for me to deviate from the right path. I can rest in ease until the next century."
Hazrat Nuh As remained quiet.
Satan further said : "I want to repay the favour. Remember to tell your people that there are three situations when I (satan) very easily can gain control over a person, one when he is angry , secondly when there is arbitration between two parties and thirdly when male is alone with a female."
In Musnad Ahmad Hadith 7101 : that Hazrat Nuh AS on his deathbed commanded his sons with two essential practices and warned them against two destructive sins. Two things to do is :firmly hold that La ilaha illa Allah (there is no God but Allah) and Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi (Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him). Two things always prohibit were Shirk (never associate anyone with Allah in worship) and Arrogance (Kibr).
After Hazart Nuh AS, Sam (his Eldest son) became the leader. Hazrat Ibrahim AS (Abrahim) is his descendent, through whom Prophethood lineage began which ended with Hazrat Mohammad (peace be upon him).
Empirical Breakthroughs and Validations:
Many geological and archeological investigations (in the region of Middle East) have revealed that indeed massive, Catastrophic regional flood did took place. The most prominent scientific hypothesis was proposed by Geologists William Ryan and Walter Pitman in 1997. They published their findings in 1998 "Noah's Flood: The New Scientific Discoveries About the Event That Changed History". Today their discoveries are called Black Sea Deluge Hypothesis.

They discovered that about 5600 BC , Black Sea was an isolated freshwater lake surrounded by fertile farmland. According to them, rise of sea level brust through Bosphorus Strait (It is located on the northwest Turkey which connect Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara). According to these Geologists, the water poured at rate of 200 times that of flow of Niagara Fall, flooding an estimated 100,000 sq/kms
